The time adverb places the verb in past time to we use the past simple tense.

Use the preposition "by" for most forms of transport (car, plane, bus, boat...).

We use "such" before an adjective and noun together.

We use "the" before words like "pub, supermarket" for the one we normally go to.

We use "present perfect simple" tense for completed actions.

We need "an" with "island" to show it is one example of a common thing.
