We use "there" to say how many things or people are in a place.

2. My mother is wonderful. I have learn many things from her.

2. My mother is wonderful. I have learnt many useful things fom her.
To make the present perfect, we need the past participle "learnt".

3. I hope I am not late. I arrived twenty minutes before.

3. I hope I am not late. I arrived twenty minutes ago.
We use "ago" to show how far in the past.

4. In my village people from all ages talk together about life.

4. In my village, people of all ages talk together about life.
"People of all ages" is a fixed expression in English.

5. After a while came to my house my ankle and aunt for dinner.

5. After a while, my uncle and aunt came to my house.
"Uncle and aunt" are the subject. They go before the verb.

6. Nice to hear from you. I took your letter three days ago.

6. Nice to hear from you. I got your letter three days ago.
We do not use the word "take" with letters / e-mails / faxes.

7. We wrote a test in history and I took an A.

7. We took a test in history and I got an A.
We use "take" for doing the test and "get" for the result.

8. I really like it when I have the chance to speak to people from England.

8. Correct.

9. I would like to tell you that I am happy to go to your the next party.

9. I would like to tell you that I am happy to go to your next party.
We do not need "the" with "your".

10. My parents aren't any more young - they have middle age.

10. My parents aren't young any more. They are middle-aged.
We put the adverb "any more" at the end of a sentence.

11. Suddently I woke up and I heard the phone to be ringing.

11. Suddenly, I woke up and heard the phone ringing.
After sense verbs, we use a present participle clause "ringing".

12. I'm afraid I don't find that it's a good idea for you visit me.

12. I'm afraid I don't think it's a good idea for you to visit me.
We use the verb "think" with opinions.

Look through these sentences. Eleven of them contain typical mistakes that Greek learners make when they speak or write English. One of the sentences is correct. The mistakes are in grammar, vocabulary, spelling and logic. Some sentences have many mistakes and some sentences have only one error.
