Our classes focus on every aspect of English, including grammar, vocabulary and idiom development, improving your English accent and pronunciation, practicing your communicative oral English, your listening comprehension, and your reading and writing skills. At the same time you’ll learn about Britain, our culture, the media and the British way of life and of thinking.

Our classes are professionally planned to offer you great variety and interest at all times. Our teaching techniques will help you think in English and use English with extra confidence… and you will have fun in class, too.

Our intensive English programmes are totally flexible. You can start any Monday, choose how many lessons you want each week and stay for as many weeks as you like. This means that you can design the programme that is perfect for you, and perfect for your budget.

Many students attend school for 8-12 weeks; others decide to come for two or three weeks during holidays. You can even come for just one week if that’s what you want. Quite a few students stay for one year or more. Whichever programme you choose, we hope that you will return for a second or even third programme, too: about 50% of our students extend their stay with us or return the next year.

How many classes do you want?

l Full-time : 21 hours, with intensive teaching every morning and 4 afternoons to learn as much English as possible in your stay. Recommended for short stays and for Examination courses. You also have 6 hours of guided self-study.

Types of course

1. General English :

Every week you will see your English improve as you concentrate on new and interesting topics, and learn how to express yourself in different situations. We use a lot of newspapers and magazines, songs and cassettes so that the English you learn in class is REAL English.

2. Examination Courses :

It’s a great idea to finish your stay in England with an internationally recognized examination that can help you with your studies or you professional career. We are an examination centre for the University of Cambridge and Trinity College, London, so we can advise you on the best exam for your level, and give you expert preparation and support.

3. Summer Courses:

We offer all you need for an unforgettable stay: an interesting combination of intensive English covering every aspect of English plus a full range of social and cultural activities after class, and visits to places of interest on Saturdays. This combines all the elements of a great holiday with the attractions of making rapid progress in your English.

4. One-to-One

To help you make very rapid progress in your English, we can arrange 1:1 classes to focus on your needs and interests. This can be from one to thirty hours a week. Recently, we have run 1:1 classes on telephone English, English and law, media English, English for business and negotiations, English for international travel, Shakespeare, and more.

5. Special Groups

One of the special features of the school is that we have lots of experience planning courses in a wide range of subject areas. Since January 2000, we have designed and run courses in topics that included: Business English, English for Travel and Tourism, Banking, Management, English for Negotiating, English for Foreign Teachers and many more. We can also prepare clients who have presentations to make, conferences or meetings to attend or exams to take.

6. Combined English Plus Courses

We don’t only help with your English. If you want to practise sports such as tennis, climbing or horseriding, we can arrange it for you. We also arrange tuition in Music, Shiatsu, Literature, other languages or other special subjects on request.

Practical Details

Levels:

When you arrive, we will give you an entrance test to help us put you in the best group. We normally have classes at Elementary, Intermediate, Upper-Intermediate and Advanced levels. We regularly review your progress and hope to see you move up through the classes.

등교 첫 날에 당신의 레벨에 맞는 과정을 위한 입학시험을 가집니다. 일반적으로 Elementary, Intermediate, Upper-Intermediate 그리고 Advanced  레벨의 과정이 있으며 정기적으로 당신의 진행과정을 다시 살펴보며 실력이 향상되기를 기대합니다.

Class Size:

Our classes have a maximum of 10-12 students, so you have plenty of personal attention from your teachers. Classes often have just 6-8 students. This will help you feel relaxed and more confident. It will also help you learn more quickly and make friends easily.

Homework:

We are a hard-working school, and our students want to make as muck progress as possible when they study with us. Regular homework is an important part of every course, and this helps us monitor your progress every week. If you want extra practice of a particular skill or a problem area, we will always be happy to help. Homework is not simply reading articles or learning vocabulary – it could also be interviewing your homestay host, reviewing a TV programme, doing a survey of an aspect of life in Britain, or preparing something for a project in class.

Study Room:

You can use our study centre after class. We have hundreds of interesting books, newspapers and magazines, and a library of readers specially selected for foreign students. There are also reference works, coursebooks, and materials to help you improve your grammar, reading, writing and vocabulary. You can also practise your listening with over 100 audio cassettes and there are more than 250 videos to choose from, too.

Social Programme:

We have a great all year round social programme. There are usually two or three activities per week. These include ice-skating, bowling, laser quest, going to the cinema or theatre, pub nights, eating out, guided tours, museum visits, weekends away and more. As Pete, who organizes it, will tell you, it’s fun, varied and a great way to practise your English.
