Our Junior Summer Classes happen from late June to mid September every year. Junior students study in mixed-nationality, junior-only groups at one of our summer school centres. Junior students enjoying lively English classes

Our Junior English Classes

Students working together in enjoyable classesOur junior programmes offer the best possible combination: excellent classroom teaching, friendly enjoyable classes, a good mixture of nationalities and a fantastic social programme of afternoon and evening activities.

Classes are from 9.00 to 12.30 every morning. Students learn from our own specially written study booklets that are designed specifically for teenagers studying on short summer programmes. Every lesson covers a different topic so you can be sure we will include many different areas in a two-week or three-week programme.

Lessons include games, songs and review of earlier lessons in the week. Our Project 100 poster in every classroom guarantees that every group will learn at least 100 new words and phrases every week.

Every two weeks, each group, chooses an English song that they like, learns, studies and practises it and then performs the song in our Friday-afternoon talent show. This is a good way for students to find out more about their favourite music and artists.

Wesley College Study Centre

Wesley College, 3 kilometres north of BristolIn 2008, we are planning to have our summer junior classes at Wesley College. Wesley College is about three kilometres north of central Bristol in a quiet, safe area near to a large public park.

There is also accommodation at Wesley College for some of our students in comfortable shared or single study-bedrooms. Other students stay with host families in the nearby area. Students staying at the college get their meals in the Wesley College restaurant, which is also a popular public restaurant serving both hot and cold meals with more than one choice at every meal.

A typical classroom at Wesley CollegeThe classrooms are in two main buildings and there is also a hall with table-tennis tables, video projector and musical instruments. Every classroom has comfortable seating, a whiteboard and movable furniture so class groups can be constantly varied.

Outside the college buildings is a large area of grass where students can relax, meet other students and play games. There is also a football (soccer) pitch in the Wesley College grounds where afternoon football games are held every week.

If numbers are high we may run classes at another school nearer to the centre of Bristol. Please contact us for details nearer the time.

Fun With The Junior Social Programme

A group of students enjoying a walking tour of BristolOur junior social programme offers a varied selection of afternoon activities every day and evening events like discos, karaoke, skating, African drumming or bowling.

Every Wednesday, we have an afternoon excursion to places of interest such as Wells, Weston Super-Mare Beach, or one of the many nearby castles. Afternoon excursions generally involve a quiz, which gives the students a chance to use their knowledge of English together in a friendly competitive atmosphere.

On Saturdays and some Sundays, there are whole-day trips to Bath, Cardiff, Oxford, Birmingham and other exciting destinations. Every excursion includes a guided tour by the accompanying teachers and visits to places of interest in the city being visited.

Most of the social events are included in the price of the course but Saturday whole-day events and Wednesday afternoon events cosat a bit extra. You will need to pay a supplement of £12 per week to go on these two events.
